Palm Springs Home Prices Up 25%
Palm Springs and the surrounding Desert Cities (Coachella Valley) have experinced a significant upward trend in home prices. The median price of a home in the Coachella Valley has increased by 25% from August 2012 to August 2013. The median price is now $250,000, but varies widely from one city to another and within various neighborhoods in those cities. The spike in prices is now encouraging home owners to list their homes for prices they did not think would be possible for another few years. The low inventory, high demand, low interest rates and an improving economy have provided the impetus for prospective home buyers to enter the market before it gets away from them. The snowbirds have been flocking to the desert even during the Summer season.
